73-year-old male with problems in urination. The digital rectal exam (DRE) revealed an enlarged prostate. He was referred for transrectal ultrasound.
Both the transrectal and the suprapubic ultrasound scanning methods are being evaluated to determine the efficacy of the techniques.

Patient âgé de 73 ans présentant des problèmes urinaires, le toucher rectal (TR) retrouve une prostate augmentée de taille. Une échographie endorectale a été pratiquée.
Les deux méthodes d'échographie : sus pubienne et endorectale ont été pratiqué pour comparer l'efficacité des 2 techniques.

ltrasound scanning of the prostate can be accomplished by either transrectal scanning or suprapubic transabdominal scanning. But the prostate is scen most clearly on rectal scanning.
Hypertrophy is prominent in the central zone. The enlarged gland have a homogeneous echopattern.

L'échographie de la prostate peut être réalisée par voie abdominale mais l'échographie endorectale est de loin le méthode la plus contributive pour l'exploration de la glande.
Ici l'hypertrophie est au dépend de la zone centrale et l'aspect de la glande reste homogène.
